About John
Coaching is really all about you. But coaching relationships are built on trust. With that in mind, you may be wondering who I am - Can we work together?
After gaining a PhD in Systems Biology from he University of Liverpool in 2009, I remained a researcher in cancer biology. In 2016 I realised that my academic work had taken me away from helping people face-to-face.
I came to coaching with a scientist’s scepticism but with hope that I could help people.
Training with Barefoot Coaching and The University of Chester, I obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching (PGCert) in 2017, accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). My values, and the values of my coaching are: directness, warmth and challenge.
In life I've suffered loss, anxiety, and made difficult choices. Equally I've found happiness, challenge and peace.
Why "Woolton Coaching"?
I live in Woolton Village, L25, in the North-West of England with my wife and two young children. I'm a governor at Woolton primary school. When I’m not coaching (or tutoring) writing is my passion. I named Woolton Coaching after Woolton village as home is so important to me. I'm really proud that Woolton has recently been named the best place to live in the North-West of England by the Sunday Times.
So that’s me. But what about you? If you would like to work with an honest, down-to-earth coach, or if you’d like a chat to help you decide, please do get in touch.
Looking forward to talking to you,
John
